Food Planet Prize offers a 2022 Curt Bergfors Food Planet Prize. Visionaries all over the world are working passionately to rethink, re-engineer and reshape the food systems. Their brilliant ideas, bold initiatives, and smart solutions must be recognized and given the opportunity to make an impact.

• The competition is committed to rewarding them annually.
• In 2020, five change-making initiatives shared four US 1$ million prizes.
• For 2021 and onwards, the Curt Bergfors Foundation decided to double the award sum and give US $2 million to 2 winners. This means that the world's biggest environmental award is all about food.

• Nominees can be individuals, groups, organizations, or businesses fully committed to sustainable food or distinctly identified projects implemented by existing companies and institutions.
• The competition welcomes a broad range of initiatives. It can be science-based or derived from practice, industrial or crafts-based, entrepreneurial or institutional, behavioral, or high-tech.
• You must have the potential for broad scaling and application.
• There are zero limits to the number of submissions per individual.
• The competition evaluates the nominated initiatives against six criteria:
• Thematic relevance.
• Level of innovation.
• Feasibility.
• The immediacy of impact.
• Scalability.
• Potential for systemic change.
• Each nominee gets several opportunities to win, as the competition reconsiders all nominations ever submitted for the Prize every year.
