Opportunity description
Hevelianum is calling every who loves astronomy or photography for participating in the competition titled AstroCamera 2021 International Astrophotography Competition and the opportunity to win many prizes. It aims to select and award the authors of the most interesting photographs of astronomic objects observed from the Earth. So, you need to have the strength of observation and visual arts skills to be one of the winners.
Eligibility:
You must meet the following criteria:
- You must be enough aged, and with full capacity to enter into legal transactions.
- Organizer’s members cannot take part in the competition.
- A Competition Entry includes a single photograph or a series of photographs that should include photographs of the same object or the same astronomic event.
- The Competition is organized in the following categories:
- Category I: Deep Sky Objects (photographs of star clusters, galaxies, etc.).
- Category II: Solar System Objects (photographs of planets, the Moon, comets, meteors, eclipses, object transits, etc.).
- Category III: Astrolandscape (photographs showing the landscape elements with astronomic objects, e.g. astronomic object rising and setting).
- The original photographs are the basis for a competition entry, and you should supply photograph details in the form.
- A Participant may register a maximum of 5 competition entries; however, the prize will award for only one photograph.
- Photographs may be color or black and white, either in horizontal or vertical format. Preferred file size (.jpg or .tiff) is max 50 Mb.
- The photographs should not contain signatures, descriptions, or watermarks.
- A competition entry sent means that a participant:
- has accepted the provisions of the competition rules.
- has given his/her consent for his/her competition entry to be presented at the post-competition exhibition, at the organizer’s website, and in press releases concerning the Competition.
Selection process:
Your photographs will evaluate on the basis following areas:
- Content: object type, observed brightness, level of difficulties in observing an object, phenomenon exotics.
- Aesthetics: object visual attractiveness, picture sharpness, noise reduction, etc.
Please note: Results will be announced by 31 May 2021.
