Photocrowd invites enthusiasts and professional’s photography around the world to participate in the Cartier Bresson's Decisive Moments photography competition. The phrase ‘Decisive Moment’ was the English title of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s 1952 photobook “Images a la Sauvette”. It encapsulates those fleeting moments of human behavior that the photographer has a split-second to capture. Sometimes these are unexpected events, but other times, as Cartier-Bresson sometimes did, a location is staked out and the photographer waits for events to unfold in ways that might be somewhat anticipated beforehand. Whilst there are many ‘decisive moments’ in other photographic genres, this contest is more focused on street and documentary photography of the kind Cartier-Bresson focused on.
Conditions:
- Images uploaded to Photocrowd must be JPEG files.
- Images can be up to 25MB in size, and 10,000 pixels on the longest side, which will be enough for most files.
- The minimum image size accepted on Photocrowd is 1080 pixels on the image's shortest side.
Judgment:
- Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended.
- Ratings are on a three-star scale - the more stars, the better.
- You can see all the images uploaded to a contest but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.
- Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge.
- After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favorite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
