Opportunity description

Chicco invites all creative people to dive into the world of babies to develop a concept of an evolutionary baby chair that accompanies parents and babies from weaning until the adult age. Chicco is the multi-specialist brand in the baby care market, present in more than 120 countries all over the world. At a time when parenting is called into question by the new generations, Chicco promotes “parenting” as an attitude towards society and the world, even before its own children. Thanks to more than 60 years of experience, the attitude of the observation starting of needs and evolutions as part of the brand DNA, driving the innovation since the beginning, and the Chicco Research Center working with a network of external experts, Chicco is a brand that speaks to all parents.

For the correct presentation of your proposals, please keep into consideration the following notes:

Modern houses have limited space, often the kitchen as a separate room doesn’t exist and the entire house is organized in bedrooms, bathrooms, and a multi-purpose living room, where generally families spend most of the time together, cooking, eating, and chatting. That brought consumers to change their attitudes and preferences towards baby products. Any new product that arrives at home should perfectly integrate in terms of aesthetics and space with the existing furniture. This means that a too childish-oriented look is no longer the preferred choice. In addition to that, the lack of space makes parents aware of the importance of buying a few and only necessary items for their baby, thus making transformable products to be preferred as their lifecycle is extended and the value for money higher compared to traditional highchairs.

Design Description:

Your concept should include:

  • The main structure.
  • A removable seat pad with straps for the early stage of weaning.
  • A removable tray.
  • All and only the necessary kit to transform the product into something different (i.e. Learning tower or other useful functionality with 18+ months use).

Prize:

The winner will receive €2,500.

Eligibility Criteria:

Participation is free of charge and open to designers and creative talents of any nationality aged 18 years or older.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Consistency with the brief presented (35%)
  • Originality/Innovation (25%)
  • Feasibility (20%)
  • Aesthetics/Design (20%)

Contest Timeline:

  • Upload phase: 15th June – 22nd September 2020
  • Client Vote: from 22nd September 2020
  • Winner announcement: approximately by Mid-November 2020
