<p>James Dyson Foundation is looking for problem solvers all over the world to participate in the “The James Dyson <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Award</a> 2020” and find a solution to any problem that humans face. James Dyson is on the hunt for bright minds with fresh ideas from around the globe. Participate in this competition if you have an invention that solves a problem.</p><h3>Competition Theme:-</h3><ul><li>James Dyson Foundation is looking for designers who think differently, to create products that work better.</li><li>The judges – and James Dyson especially – are drawn to designs that employ clever yet simple engineering principles and address clear problems.</li><li>As well as proving your project’s technical viability, it should be commercially viable, too – so include any research you've done into manufacturing costs and retail prices.</li><li>This year the James Dyson will also be looking for entries that address a sustainability issue, or have been designed, sourced or manufactured sustainably.</li><li>Both the international winner and sustainability winner are handpicked by James Dyson from the Dyson engineers’ top 20 shortlist. The international winner is the best entry that meets the competition brief. The sustainability winner is an additional prize awarded to the best entry that addresses a sustainability issue, or has incorporated sustainability into its design process, materials or manufacturing.</li></ul><h3>Competition Timeline:-</h3><ul><li>17 MAR: Entries open</li><li>30 June: Entries close</li><li>25 August: National winners and finalists announced</li><li>30 OCT: Dyson engineers' shortlist announced</li><li> 17 NOV: International winner and sustainability winner announced.</li></ul>

<ul><li>National winner: £2,000.</li><li>Sustainability winner: £30,000.</li><li>International winner: £30,000 (and £5,000 for your university).</li><li>International runners up: £5,000.</li><li>As well as winning a significant cash prize, you could generate media exposure to kick-start your career, earn the esteem of your peers – and perhaps gain the confidence to launch your own business.</li></ul>

<ul><li>The James Dyson Award is open to current university students of engineering, product design and industrial design – and those who have graduated in these subjects in the last four years. The James Dyson foundation will ask to see official documentation that proves it.</li><li>The Award is only open to product design, industrial design and engineering students (or recent graduates). If your field of study was something else, you can enter as part of a team – but your team leader will need to have studied in one of the qualifying subjects. All team members must be (or have been within the last four years) enrolled for at least one semester in an undergraduate or graduate programme.</li><li>You can enter more than one project but you should only enter each project once.</li><li>It doesn't matter what your nationality is.
