AFS Egypt is offering the Kennedy-Lugar YES program for Egyptian students sponsored by U.S. Department of State. AFS is committed to helping young people to go abroad regardless of their financial situation. That’s why AFS works with corporate and community sponsors and individual donors to help finance AFS programs through full and partial scholarships.

About the Program:

The scholarship aims to develop leadership and personal skills and encourages commitment to society and the state and as affirmation for the principle of equal opportunities, AFS Egypt encourages students in all schools of the Republic (governmental - experimental - languages - Azharian - international - deaf, dumb and blind schools).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The student must be an Egyptian citizen with a leadership personality that qualifies him to represent
    Egypt as an ambassador abroad.
  • The student or one of his parents should not have applied for immigration to the
    United States of America.
  • The student must be enrolled in the third year of middle school or (first - a second secondary school for the academic year 2020-2021).
  • The age should not be less than fifteen years and not more than seventeen years and six months. On the first of August 2021, the date of birth of the student shall be between (January 1, 2004 and August 1, 2006).
  • The student's total should not be less than 80% in each of the previous two academic years 2018/2019 - 2020/2019.
  • The student must have a good level of English.

Benefits:-

The Scholarship covers program fee, Pocket money, staying with host family, attending school and medical insurance.
