Opportunity description

Hertie School offers an international security policy scholarship that is intended for students who are passionate about international security and wish to pursue a career in this field. The climate change, cyber-warfare, nuclear weapons and terrorism, the security challenges facing the international community in the 21st century are diverse and complex. This scholarship is offered in cooperation with the center for international security led by Wolfgang Ischinger, director of the center and chairman of the Munich security conference.

Benefits

There are up to two full scholarships are available, each worth 32,500 EUR.


Eligibility criteria

  • This scholarship is available for the master of international affairs.
  • It's opened to applicants of all nationalities.
  • MIA applicants should have a demonstrated academic or professional interest in international security and the challenges that arise in a complex, global multi-level system.
  • All applications are assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
  1. Personal suitability (40%): CV, professional experience, entrepreneurship, international experience, civic engagement. 
  2. Academic excellence (40%): Strength of academic background, academic performance grades, general academic qualification, linguistic qualification.
  3. Motivation (20%): Convincing motivation to study public policy or international affairs, motivation to study at the Hertie School, overall coherence.
