The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is offering an online volunteer opportunity in translating messages for a social media campaign from English to Arabic. OHCHR is looking for 1 volunteer to help it translate messages for a social media campaign to promote the UN International Decade for People of African Descent.
Background and Objectives:-
The social media campaign was developed by UN fellows with the support of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to raise awareness about the UN International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAP).
The UN General Assembly declared the period 2015 - 2024 the International Decade for People of African Descent.
By doing so, the international community is recognizing that people of African descent represent a distinct group whose human rights must be promoted and protected.
Requirements:-
- Candidates should be native in Arabic and fluent in English.
- Familiarity with technical terms related to human rights will be considered an advantage.
Tasks:-
The volunteer is required to translate messages for a social media campaign to promote the UN International Decade for People of African Descent.
The document to be translated is about 400 words (1,5 page) By translating the messages for the social media campaign, the Online volunteer will contribute to increase outreach and raise engagement at the global level in the UN International Decade for People of African Descent. In doing so, the volunteer will contribute to the promotion and protection of the human rights of people of African descent.
