Opportunity description

Salto Youth is inviting young professional to participate in the International Baltic-Arabic seminar that will take place in Narva, Estonia from October 3 to October 5, 2019.

Objectives of the Activity

  • To develop partnership between Baltic and Mediterranean countries in the field of the youth work.
  • To explore possibilities for cooperation and provide space for developing future project ideas.
  • To provide space for intercultural learning among participants in order to bring gained experience and attitude to the local communities and to the youth with whom work participating organisations.
  • To explore realities of young people and youth work in participating countries in order and be able to answer common challenges within future projects;
  • To contribute to address the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.
  • Increase awareness about this issue within local communities by increasing sense of intercultural sensitivity and by follow-up activities and future projects, which participants will develop during the project.

Funding

Participation costs will be covered by the Erasmus+ National Agency in your country. Accommodation, food and travel costs will be provided to successful applicants. Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organizer, for recognition of their competence.

Eligibility 

The project targets the following groups:

  • Youth workers either on a professional or voluntary basis who are working with young people on a daily basis or in projects;
  • Youth leaders and volunteers who works international mobilities such as international youth exchanges or working with youth on the local level;
  • Youth workers and project managers who work with local and international volunteers.

What will you Learn

At the end of the seminar, the participants will:

  1. Be familiar with situation and the role of young people and youth work in Baltics and Mediterranean countries (Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine):
  2. Be familiar with opportunities and benefits from Baltic-Arabic cooperation;
  3. Develop corporation and partnership relations with organisation from Baltics and Mediterranean countries;
  4. Develop project ideas and concrete steps to corporations;
  5. Learn about Baltic and Mediterranean countries cultures and increased sense of cultural sensitivity.

About the Organization

SALTO-YOUTH is a network of six Resource Centers working on European priority areas within the youth field. As part of the European Commission's Training Strategy, SALTO-YOUTH provides non-formal learning resources for youth workers and youth leaders and organizes training and contact-making activities to support organizations and National Agencies ( NAs) within the frame of the European Commission's Erasmus+ Youth program and beyond.
