Public Poetry has launched a new poetry <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">contest&nbsp;</a>under the theme of &quot;Virus Poems&quot;. Public Poetry is making this contest FREE. All of its activities are focused on creating new opportunities for poets and poetry, and this is one way they can do that now. &nbsp;While we hunker down in the face of the pandemic, we can also &nbsp;be productive, &nbsp;allowing ourselves to reflect and clean out some of the cobwebs that cling to us, &nbsp;- all good stuff for writing poetry inspired by these times we&rsquo;re in now.&nbsp;<h3 dir="LTR">Contest rules:</h3><ol><li>Anyone can submit, including outside the USA.</li><li>Only new, original poems accepted.</li><li>ONE entry per person non-members; &nbsp;up to TWO entries for all Public Poetry Members (membership information <a href="http://www.publicpoetry.net/membership-here/" target="_blank">HERE</a>).&nbsp;</li><li>40 lines maximum per poem (title, epigraph and blank lines do not count.)&nbsp;</li><li>Must be written in English.</li><li>The contest is judged blind; your name and other identifying information CAN NOT appear anywhere in the submission itself.&nbsp;</li><li>YOUTH poems will be judged in 3 categories: 7 and under; &nbsp;8 - 12 years old; 13-18 years old.</li><li>All submissions should include the date you wrote the poem at the top right above the title.</li><li>Submissions may not be modified in any way after entry.&nbsp;</li><li>Failure to comply with any contest guidelines may result in your submission being disqualified.</li></ol><h3 dir="LTR">About Public Poetry:</h3>Public Poetry showcases the enduring power of poetry.
