<p>The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) is offering a <a href="https://www.for9a.com/opportunity/category/scholarships/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">competition</a> for filmmakers who interested in science communication. Any one-minute video can be submitted on any scientific topic.</p><h3>Eligibility &amp; Rules:</h3><p>This competition is open to emerging independent filmmakers interested in science communication. Videos can be on any science topic and will be judged on creativity, production values, storytelling, and clarity for an international audience.</p><p><strong>Producers must be:</strong></p><ul><li>An emerging independent filmmaker.</li><li>Under the age of 35</li><li>Operating independently.</li><li>100% copyright owner of the video.</li></ul><p><strong>Videos must be:</strong></p><ul><li>In one of two formats:</li></ul><ul><li>1:1 OR 5:6 (vertical) aspect ratio video for Instagram Feed - maximum length of 60 seconds.</li><li>9:16 (vertical) aspect ratio video for Instagram Stories/TikTok - maximum length of 60 seconds (4 x 15 seconds).</li></ul><ul><li>On any science topic.</li><li>Original content created specifically for this contest.</li><li>Uploaded as an unlisted YouTube video.</li><li>In English or have English subtitles/captions.</li><li>Rating: Completed films should aim for a PG rating; there should be no swearing, extreme violence, sexual content/nudity, or adult themes.</li><li>Footage: All footage in the videos should be original with rights entirely owned by the Producer. Videos using stock or archive footage will not be accepted.</li><li>Equipment and Costs: Any video or film camera may be used during production. Animation, motion graphics, and special effects are permitted. Any costs associated with the development, production, or post-production of the video are entirely the responsibility of the producer.</li><li>Copyright: All rights to the video belong to the producer and it&rsquo;s the responsibility of the producer to ensure all production elements of the video including but not limited to visuals, narration, music, the soundtrack are fully cleared.</li><li>The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers reserves the non-exclusive right to use the video after its delivery for non-commercial purposes including promotional or educational purposes for a period of two years from the delivery date ending on November 1, 2022.&nbsp;</li><li>The producer shall not distribute or advertise the video in any way during the official competition period. Any pre-screening or online release of the completed video prior to the official screening on December 10 at Congress &#39;20 is not permitted.</li><li>Timeline: All creative work must take place during the official competition period. Any creative work started or completed in advance of the Competition is prohibited.</li></ul><h3>Awards:</h3><ul><li>The selection committee will select finalist videos for screening at the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers and will also showcase finalists on WCSFP&#39;s social media channels.&nbsp;</li><li>The top three finalists will receive free registration for Congress &#39;21.&nbsp;</li><li>The grand prize winner will receive economy airfare, four nights hotel, and registration for Congress &#39;21.</li></ul><h3>About the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP):</h3><p>World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) is a member-driven organization formed by science and factual producers, broadcasters, and content providers from around the world.
