Opportunity description

The United Nations invites individuals passionate about design to apply for an online volunteering opportunity to design advocacy materials for non-communicable diseases for 2020. UNDP and WHO are collaborating with national partners to develop investment cases for increased action in health. The cases are based on economic analysis but are primarily advocacy exercises. Thus compelling visual content is key to their success. The assignment should develop templates to be adapted for each country investment case. The primary language will be English but materials will also be developed in Arabic and French. The three selected volunteers will be working within a team to develop the materials in the three languages required based on their language asset.

Responsibilities:

The volunteer will design templates for materials to be used to advocate for policy action on non-communicable diseases. These materials will be used as part of national non-communicable disease investment cases to be delivered to governments by UNDP and WHO. The products may include; power-point templates, infographics (using venngage), charts and graphs and suggested social media content. UNDP HIV, Health and Development Unit will provide required information and guidance.

Requirements:

  1. Volunteers need to work 1-5 hours per week, for 3 weeks.
  2. The materials produced should use software that can be easily adapted by non-technical staff working on each country. Graphic design experience is required.
  3. English, French and Arabic are the languages required.

Benefits:

Upon completion, the online volunteer will be given due credit and receive a Certificate of Appreciation for his or her contribution.
