Athens Photo World (APW) is offering the Yannis Behrakis International Photojournalism Award for photographers and photojournalists all over the world. This award contributes to the promotion, support and encouragement of the work of photographers and photojournalists, so that they can fulfil their vision and continue to produce their work.
About the Competition:-
The Yannis Behrakis International Photojournalism Award will be awarded to a full-length photojournalism or documentary body of work created after January 2018.
Timeline:-
- Call for entries open: 31 December 2020.
- Submission deadline: 18 April 2021.
- Finalists Announcement: 20 May 2021.
- Winner announcement: 30 May 2021.
Prizes:-
- A prize of 15,000€ is given to the winner.
- The award winning photographic project will be exhibited during Athens Photo World 2022 as a solo exhibition of the photographer.
Eligibility and Conditions:-
- The competition is open to any professional photographer / photojournalist, regardless of nationality and place of residence and work.
- You are allowed to submit 1 to 99 projects per submission.
- You are allowed to submit 1 to 24 images per project. The desired number of photos is 24. Fewer photos can be submitted as long as they create a complete photographic body of work.
- File type must be JPG.
- At least 3000px on the long edge.

Athens Photo World (APW) aims at promoting the work of photographers and photojournalists, familiarizing the public with contemporary photojournalism and highlighting photojournalism’s contribution to recording history as it is written, in an effort to encourage photojournalists from around the world and support their commitment to their work and vision. As part of its mission, APW is organising the annual Photojournalism Award for professional photographers living and working in Greece and/or Cyprus.
