Khalifa University launches the Green Campus Competition, a competition dedicated to undergraduate students in the Gulf region. It aims to empower young people to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that transform university campuses into more sustainable environments. The competition focuses on raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging innovation, and motivating students to present practical projects that can be implemented within educational institutions.
Responsibilities
- Submit a design proposal related to the theme “Atmospheres.”
- Design an outdoor installation or pavilion suitable for public spaces.
- Explain the concept of the project and its connection to the sensory and psychological experience of the place.
- Submit reference images or renders of the proposal.
- Clarify the materials used, as well as the production and installation cost.
- Specify the dimensions, area, technical requirements, and implementation timeline.

Eligibility criteria

- Suitable materials must be used for outdoor display in Dubai’s climate.
- The final installation must not exceed a weight of 350 kg per square meter.
- The work must be produced fully or partially in the UAE.
- Applicants must own the intellectual property rights to the proposal.
- Applicants must be available for virtual meetings with the Dubai Design Week team and able to be present in Dubai to oversee production and installation.
