Blockchain Building Hackathon and Prizes Up to $90,000 Devpost

Devpost invites programmers and developers around the world to participate in the Blockchain Building Hackathon for the VeChainThor platform.

WHAT TO BUILD:

Entrants must develop new frameworks and tooling that will benefit future builders wanting to build dApps on the VeChainThor blockchain. Examples include:

• Tools to start (local) blockchain instances.
• Utilities to write, compile, debug and test smart contracts
• Utilities to deploy smart contracts
• Development frameworks for python, javascript and/or typescript.
• Front-end libraries that help developers build user-facing applications that connect with the VeChainThor blockchain
• Integrations with decentralized storage options like IPFS.
• Ports of common ETH tools such as Truffle, Hard Hat etc.

$90,000 in prizes

• Grand Prize: $25,000 USD in VeUSD
• 2nd Place: $15,000 USD in VeUSD
• 3rd Place: $10,000 USD in VeUSD
• 4th Place: $5,000 USD in VeUSD
• Honorable Mentions (5): $1,000 USD in VeUSD

• The Hackathon is open to individuals who are at least the age of majority in their place of residence as well as to teams and organizations including corporations, non-profit corporations, other non-profit organizations, LLCs, partnerships and other legal entities.
• An Eligible Individual may join more than one Team or Organization and an Eligible Individual who is part of a Team or Organization may also enter the Hackathon on an individual basis.
• Residents of any country, state, or territory subject to US sanctions are not eligible to participate, such as Cuba, Sudan, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
• Organizations involved with the design, production, paid promotion, execution, or distribution of the Hackathon, including the Sponsor and Administrator are not eligible.
• Participation is not open to anyone involved in the design, production, promotion, implementation or distribution of the hackathon, and any member of their immediate family.
• Be the original work of the submitter, be solely owned by the submitter, and not violate the IP rights of any other person or entity.

Judging Criteria:

Functionality:

• Does the interaction with VeChain EDM demonstrate quality software development? Does the implementation of the idea include execution? Is the code working? Is the demo working?

Ease of Use:

• Are the README instructions easy to follow for future use? Is the user-experience intuitive and easy to follow for new and existing users of the platform?

Impact:

• How does the tool impact the VeChain ecosystem? What is the biggest impact on core development? Extent to which the VeChain technology was leveraged? How big of an impact will this make on the developer community using the platform?

Quality of the Idea:

• How creative and unique is the project?
