Opportunity description

The Cresting International Short Film Competition calls for circular economy-themed and attention-grabbing videos to spread socio-environmental awareness. If you have a great example of a circular economy initiative in your neighborhood, local community, city, company, or perhaps household shoot a short film to inspire others with your story.

Practices such as re-use, material recovery, repair, composting, or buying second-hand have been with us from an early age. Yet, it is only recently that they are commonly referred to as ‘circular’. A circular economy is based on the principles of maximizing the use of resources, designing out waste and pollution, and regenerating natural systems. By challenging the ‘throwaway culture, the circular economy is seen as an opportunity to benefit people, the planet, and the profit: to boost economic competitiveness, create new good quality jobs and shared spaces to socialize and decrease carbon dependency.

Benefits

  • The first winner will get a Digital gift card worth 400 EUR.
  • The second winner will get a Digital gift card worth 200 EUR

(the cards can be used worldwide at all locations where Mastercard is accepted).

The winner will be announced during the Final Cresting conference, which will be held at the Royal Geographical Society in London (UK) on the 15th of December 2021. The conference will host some of the key circular pioneers. The submitted films will be uploaded to the CRESTING ITN YouTube channel and will be available to Conference participants.
