Culture Resource (Al-Mawred Al-Thaqafy) is accepting applications for the 2026 Production Awards Program, a funding programme dedicated to supporting young artists and writers from the Arab region. The programme aims to help them produce their first creative projects and develop their artistic and professional careers.
Each year, the programme provides up to 25 production grants across five main creative fields: literature, visual arts, performing arts, music and sound arts, and cinema, with up to five projects selected in each field to receive financial support.
This opportunity is considered one of the notable financial and artistic grants for young Arabs, as applicants from the Arab region may apply whether they currently live in the region or in the diaspora. Funding can reach up to €13,000, depending on the artistic field of the project.
Eligible Fields and Projects
The programme supports a wide range of creative projects, including:
Literature: Novels, short stories, poetry, plays, memoirs, biographies, and other literary projects.
Visual Arts: Painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, digital art, and other contemporary artistic practices.
Music and Sound Arts: Production of musical and sound-based projects and works.
Performing Arts: Theatre, dance, and other forms of performing arts.
Cinema: Fiction, documentary, experimental films, and other eligible film projects in accordance with the programme’s requirements.
Benefits
The amount of financial support varies by field:
- Cinema: Up to €13,000.
- Visual Arts: Up to €8,500.
- Music and Sound Arts: Up to €8,500.
- Performing Arts: Up to €8,500.
- Literature: Up to €6,500.
The programme provides up to 5 grants in each field, for a total of up to 25 grants annually.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants are eligible to apply if they:
- Are under 35 years old.
- Were born between January 1992 and December 2011, according to the eligibility criteria for the 2026 cycle.
- Originate from one of the Arab countries, regardless of their current legal nationality or place of residence.
- Reside either in the Arab region or abroad in the diaspora.
- Apply as an individual artist or writer, rather than as an organization.
- Submit a project within one of the five fields supported by the programme.
- Submit only one project during the current application cycle.
- Are able to complete the project within a maximum of 18 months from the date of signing the grant agreement.
