Kids World Travel Guide invites you to the 6th annual essay competition - Theme: "Hope". The pandemic has taught us a lot and though there are still dark days ahead, we all know that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We know that one day we can travel and explore again but for now we have to keep our families and environment safe and so we continue to travel only in our dreams and hope for a better world once this pandemic has passed.
Let's explore and share our hopes and dreams, tell each other about favourite places and spaces that make us happy! Let's tell others what we want them to know about our how we live together peacefully, care for each other and watch out for our environment. What is your hope for a better world? What are your hopes for yourself, your family, your country or our planet?
There are so many different aspects of hope. Choose one of the essay options to tell us about what hope means for you.
Once we share our insights, learn from each other, look out for each other, this planet will be a better place! So let the sunshine in!

- Each of the category winners (8-11 years/ 12-15 years) will receive a book voucher of US $50. The runner-up in each category will win a travel book prize worth $25.

Eligibility criteria
Junior Category: 8 - 11 years
- Essay length: minimum 300 words - maximum 500 words
- The essay may include the following topics:

- My favourite activities
- My message of hope
- My book of hope
- My favourite hero, my favourite heroine
- My favourite quote
- A story that makes me happy
- Tips for happiness - spread the hope
- Random acts of kindness
- What gives me hope
- The essay has to be submitted in English, but may include words or phrases in a foreign language.
Senior Category: 12 - 15 years:
- Essay length: minimum 300 words - maximum 500 words
- The essay may include the following topics:
- About my happy space
- My hopes for the future
- My favourite quote
- Message of hope
- My dreams, my hopes, my future
- Possibilities, dreams and hopes
- Inspirational people: biography of an idol
- Inspirational places
- Inspiring traditions and customs
- Idols, inspirational people and extraordinary achievements
- Listing of positive facts about your country
- Tips for happiness: What people can do to be more happy
- Random acts of kindness
- Life in the country of my dreams
- The future of my country
- A better world for all
- The essay has to be submitted in English, but may include words or phrases in a foreign language (with comments and translations, please).
- Writing Competition Entry Fee: None. Only online entries on separate writing competition form are accepted.
