Opportunity description

The Misk Art Institute has opened applications for the twelfth edition of the Masaha Residency, a three-month in-person artist residency held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The residency offers visual and digital artists the opportunity to conduct research, experiment, and develop a new artistic project. Participants will also receive mentorship and artistic feedback while building connections with artists, curators, and experts from Saudi Arabia and the international art scene.

Residency Duration and Location

  1. Location: Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  2. Duration: Approximately three months.
  3. Start date: October 11, 2026.
  4. End date: January 2, 2027.
  5. Programme language: English.
  6. Participation format: In person, with full commitment required throughout the programme.

Eligibility criteria

The residency is intended for full-time visual and digital artists from various artistic disciplines who meet one or more of the following requirements:

  1. Have at least three years of experience in fine arts.
  2. Have a minimum three-year record of participation in artistic events or exhibitions.
  3. Maintain an active and consistent artistic practice.
  4. Be able to develop a project related to the theme of the residency cycle.
  5. Be able to participate and communicate in English.
  6. Be fully available to commit to the three-month residency without exceptions.
