FASPE – Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics offers the Journalism Fellowship 2027, a fully funded international fellowship designed for journalists and graduate students who are interested in building a professional career in journalism.
The program focuses on professional ethics, responsibility, and leadership in journalism and media by examining the role of journalists and media institutions in Germany and beyond during the Nazi era, and connecting those historical experiences to the ethical challenges journalists face today.
Selected fellows take part in an intensive two-week program that includes seminars, discussions, and educational site visits in Germany and Poland. The fellowship explores topics such as the impact of technology on journalism, the role of media in politics and elections, advocacy journalism, misinformation, and the responsibility of journalists to hold those in power accountable.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
- Have some journalism experience and be currently enrolled in a graduate program in any field, with plans to pursue a career as a journalist.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree and currently work as a journalist.
- Hold a graduate degree and currently work as a journalist.
- Be at an early stage of their professional career; FASPE indicates that total professional experience generally should not exceed 10 years.
- Preference is given to applicants who have journalistic work that has been published or broadcast by a recognized media organization.
