Opportunity description

InterMediaKT – Interactive Media Knowledge Transfer is inviting applications for one of the most exciting fully funded international volunteering opportunities under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). The six-month project will take place in Patras, Greece, from October 2026 to March 2027.

The opportunity is designed for young people interested in technology, education, research, and digital media. Volunteers will join an international team and contribute in one or more of four main fields: web development and design, research and education, proposal development and research, or communication and multimedia.

This ESC project offers participants a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a multicultural environment while developing both professional and personal skills. Volunteers will contribute to educational and digital initiatives with a positive social impact, improve their teamwork and intercultural communication skills, and benefit from comprehensive funding covering accommodation, meals, pocket money, travel expenses, and health insurance.

Volunteering Areas

Applicants may choose one or more of the following areas:

Web Development and Design

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with website design and development.
  • Updating website pages and digital content.
  • Improving user experience (UX).
  • Contributing to the development of digital tools and online platforms.
  • Supporting the organization's technical activities.

Research and Education

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting research and collecting information.
  • Assisting in the preparation of educational and training materials.
  • Supporting non-formal education activities.
  • Contributing to the development of workshops.
  • Assisting with youth education programs.

Proposal Development and Research

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Researching international funding and project opportunities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project proposals.
  • Collecting data and supporting documentation for funding applications.
  • Supporting the development of project plans and reports.
  • Participating in fundraising activities.

Communication and Multimedia

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Creating digital content.
  • Managing or supporting social media platforms.
  • Producing photographs, videos, and visual content.
  • Documenting the organization's activities.
  • Assisting with media campaigns and promotional activities.

Benefits

Selected volunteers will receive:

  • Free accommodation in a fully furnished shared apartment in Patras.
  • A daily food and pocket allowance of €13.50.
  • Coverage of round-trip travel expenses between the volunteer's home country and Greece.

Duties & responsibilities

Depending on the volunteering area selected, volunteers may be responsible for:

  • Assisting in website development, design, and user experience (UX) improvement.
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of digital content and online platforms.
  • Participating in research activities, information gathering, and the preparation of educational materials.
  • Assisting in the design and delivery of workshops and non-formal education activities.
  • Supporting the preparation of European project proposals, funding applications, and grant opportunity research.
  • Contributing to the preparation of project reports and supporting documentation.
  • Creating and managing content for social media platforms and the organization's website.
  • Designing visual materials and producing photographs, videos, and multimedia content.
  • Documenting the organization's activities and events.
  • Collaborating with an international team on daily activities and community initiatives.
  • Assisting in the organization of events, meetings, and youth activities.
  • Promoting intercultural dialogue and the values of volunteering and active citizenship.
  • Participating in meetings, training sessions, and activities organized under the European Solidarity Corps programme.
  • Completing assigned tasks professionally while contributing to the overall objectives of the project.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Be legally residing in one of the eligible countries.
  • Be motivated to learn and develop new skills.
  • Be cooperative, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be willing to step outside their comfort zone and take part in a new international experience.
  • Have good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Have an English proficiency level between B1 and B2.
  • Demonstrate an interest in intercultural communication and exchange.
  • Be available and committed to participating throughout the full duration of the project.
  • Have relevant knowledge, previous experience, or a strong interest in one or more of the volunteering fields offered.
