Opportunity description

The Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) at Aarhus University is preparing to open applications for the next round of the AIAS-AUFF Fellowships, a funded international research fellowship programme for outstanding researchers from all academic disciplines and nationalities.

The fellowship enables researchers to pursue independent and innovative research projects in an international and interdisciplinary academic environment in Denmark. Fellows may also collaborate with departments, centres, and research groups across Aarhus University.

Based on previous calls, approximately 10 individual fellowships are expected to be available in the upcoming round.

Fellowship Fields

The fellowship is open to researchers from all academic disciplines, including:

  • Medicine and health sciences.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a PhD degree by the application deadline.
  • Have between 2 and 10 years of research experience after completing the PhD by the application closing date.
  • Propose an innovative research project driven by academic curiosity.
  • Ensure that the project includes an interdisciplinary dimension or demonstrate a clear interest in collaboration across academic disciplines.
  • Identify suitable opportunities for collaboration with researchers or research groups at Aarhus University.
  • Be prepared to live and work in Aarhus for the duration of the fellowship.
  • Meet the programme’s international mobility requirement.
