Opportunity description
The Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP) is offering one of the funded international cultural exchange and artist residency opportunities for 2027 through its Learning Materials project, giving artists and creatives from around the world the opportunity to spend 90 days in Finland developing their artistic and research projects.
The program aims to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between artists and researchers while exploring the relationship between art, the materials used in creative production, and environmental sustainability through research, experimentation, and the exchange of experiences with artistic institutions and local communities.
The residency provides participants with a monthly grant, accommodation, workspace, and travel cost coverage, along with the opportunity to take part in international cultural and artistic activities in Helsinki.

A monthly grant of €1,350, totaling €4,050 for the full residency period.
Round-trip travel costs covered from and to the artist’s country of residence.
Furnished accommodation and an artistic workspace provided throughout the program.
Financial support of up to €750 for artistic materials and supplies.
Additional accessibility support of up to €1,000 for eligible artists with accessibility needs.
