Opportunity description

Salzburg Global is offering one of the funded international cultural exchange opportunities for 2027 through The Cultural Futures Forum: Whose Creative Labor Counts?, which will take place in Salzburg, Austria, from March 14 to 19, 2027, bringing together artists, creatives, researchers, and cultural leaders from around the world.

The program aims to explore the future of work in the cultural and creative sectors, examine the impact of artificial intelligence and technology on artistic professions, and address issues related to workplace equity, the rights of creative workers, and opportunities for young people to build sustainable careers.

Program Themes

  1. Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Creative Careers: Explore the impact of automation and digital platforms on the production and distribution of creative work, as well as fairness in the distribution of economic returns.

  2. Opportunities for Young People in the Cultural Industries: Examine the challenges facing new generations entering the creative labor market and developing sustainable career paths.

  3. Rights of Workers in the Creative Sectors: Discuss fair pay, social protection, and job security for freelancers and artists.

  4. Leadership and International Collaboration: Develop ideas and policies that promote fairness and sustainability in the cultural industries and build partnerships among institutions, creatives, and decision-makers.

Benefits

  • Fully funded scholarships are available for a limited number of participants, covering participation fees and travel expenses.

  • Partial scholarships may cover either participation fees or travel costs.

  • The participation fee includes accommodation and meals throughout the program.
