Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in Beijing, China, offers a One-Semester Study Program under the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. It is one of the short-term cultural exchange and educational residency programs that allows participants to combine Chinese language study with direct immersion in Chinese culture, society, and university life.

The program begins in March 2027 and lasts for up to 5 months, giving participants the opportunity to take part in a short-term international experience in Beijing. This includes studying in a Chinese university environment, interacting with local and international students, practicing Chinese in daily life, and gaining direct exposure to Chinese culture, traditions, and everyday life.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be non-Chinese citizens.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Comply with Chinese laws and university regulations.
  • Be in good physical and mental health.
  • Have a good academic and conduct record.
  • Be interested in the Chinese language, Chinese language education, or related fields.
  • Be between 16 and 35 years old as of September 1, 2026.
  • The maximum age may be extended to 45 years for currently employed Chinese language teachers.
  • Hold HSK Level 3 with a minimum score of 180.
  • Submit an HSKK score.
  • Applicants who have received a similar scholarship within the previous three years are generally not eligible for the one-semester study program.
