Ibn Haldun University (IHU) in Türkiye has opened applications for the youth exchange programme SUSTAIN-ED: Sustainability in Education Beyond Borders, an international project under Erasmus+ KA152-YOU, funded by the European Union and supported by the Turkish National Agency.
The programme targets international students who are currently studying in Türkiye or Germany, bringing them together in a youth exchange experience focused on sustainability, sustainable development in education, non-formal learning, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.
The programme is distinctive in that it includes two separate international phases: the first in Istanbul, Türkiye, in October 2026, and the second in Amberg-Weiden, Germany, in December 2026. Participants are required to commit to attending both phases in full.
Benefits
Participation is funded through the Erasmus+ programme, and the covered costs include:
- Travel expenses related to participation in the programme.
- Accommodation during the exchange activity periods.
- Meals throughout the programme.
- Participation in all activities, workshops, and field visits.
- A Youthpass certificate upon successful completion of the programme.
- Participation in an international exchange experience bringing together students from Türkiye and Germany.
- Development of knowledge and skills in sustainability, sustainable development, and education.
- Development of communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Gaining international experience and learning about sustainability practices in different educational and cultural environments.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Be an international student.
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programme.
- Be currently studying in Türkiye or Germany.
- Be between 18 and 25 years old.
- Hold a valid passport covering the programme period.
- Hold a valid Schengen visa allowing entry into Germany at the time of application, as this is a prerequisite for applying to the programme.
- Commit to participating in all activities of the Istanbul phase from October 19 to 23, 2026.
- Commit to participating in all activities of the Germany phase from December 7 to 11, 2026.
- Commit to attending the online orientation session scheduled for the final week of September 2026.
