Opportunity description

Mindspark Plus is offering a long-term international volunteering opportunity under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program in Alexandroupoli, Greece, aimed at empowering young people and promoting social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, digital skills, and social entrepreneurship.

The project brings together unaccompanied refugee minors, young people with fewer opportunities, and local youth in a safe and supportive environment that helps them learn, communicate, build social connections, and actively participate in their communities.

Volunteers will take part in workshops, training sessions, community activities, and cultural exchange programs, with a focus on helping marginalized young people overcome challenges related to social and cultural isolation, limited access to opportunities, and gaps in digital skills.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Participate in organizing workshops and activities for young people and refugee minors.
  • Support activities promoting social inclusion, diversity, and intercultural dialogue.
  • Contribute to activities aimed at developing basic digital skills.
  • Raise awareness among young people about online safety.
  • Assist with activities such as video editing and social media management.
  • Participate in activities related to active citizenship and community engagement.
  • Help young people develop innovative ideas and solutions to local challenges.
  • Participate in social entrepreneurship activities.
  • Contribute to cultural exchange activities among participants from diverse backgrounds.
  • Support environmental and sustainability practices within project activities.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants should be young people interested in making a positive social impact.
  • Be motivated to work with young people, refugee minors, and marginalized groups.
  • Be empathetic, open-minded, and able to interact with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Have an interest in social inclusion, diversity, and combating stereotypes.
  • No specific professional experience is required.
  • Be adaptable and able to work and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Have an interest in digital transformation and digital skills.
  • An interest in video editing, social media, or teaching digital skills is preferred.
  • Have an interest in active citizenship and community engagement.
  • Have an interest in social entrepreneurship.
  • Be willing to participate in environmental activities and promote sustainability.
  • The project particularly encourages young people with fewer opportunities to apply.
