Opportunity description
GRUENER GRASHALM e.V. is offering a funded international volunteering opportunity under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program titled Deep into Life III 12/2026, which will take place in Fahren – Zurow, Germany, in December 2026.
The project combines hands-on outdoor work, community living, cultural exchange, and leadership development. Participants will live and work together as part of an international group, with a strong focus on learning by doing, taking responsibility, and teamwork.
The program aims to help young people discover their strengths, build self-confidence, develop initiative, and learn how to turn ideas into activities that create a positive impact in their communities.

Duties & responsibilities
Participate in landscape and outdoor area maintenance.
Carry out practical activities related to woodworking.
Assist with the maintenance and care of the project site.
Participate in specialized leadership training and workshops.
Develop communication and teamwork skills.
Learn how to take responsibility and make decisions.
Participate in group challenges and team activities.
Contribute to shared daily-life tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
Participate in cultural exchange activities with young people from different countries.
Develop ideas and initiatives that can be transformed into activities with a positive community impact.
Participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and hands-on activities.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
Applicants must be from one of the countries eligible for the project.
Have an interest in international community living, hands-on work, and personal development.
Be willing to participate actively in project activities.
Be able and willing to work as part of a team.
Have a desire to develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
Be open to meeting and interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Be willing to participate in practical and physical activities at the project site.
Be motivated to learn, take initiative, and contribute to the community.
No previous experience or specific qualifications are required.
The organization particularly encourages applicants from underrepresented backgrounds to participate.
