Golden Baklava International Student Short Film Festival

FilmFreeway is inviting all filmmakers to take part in

Golden Baklava Film Academy 7th International Student Film Festival competition, which will be held at Hasan Kalyoncu University, Gaziantep on 23-24-25 of March 2022, is a young artistic and cultural event.

The Festival aims to support young producers on their path of film production, attract the attention of film lovers, make contributions to the expansion of the cinema industry, and ensure the recognition of cinema and producers on national and international platforms. In this direction, the festival rewards documentary and fiction short films made by university students, every year.

1. The festival is open to submissions from undergraduate and master/P.h.D students in Turkey or abroad.
2. Submissions are open ONLY for short films (fiction, documentary) produced by university students, including students graduating in the academic years 2019-2020-2021-2022. The filmmaker should have been officially an enrolled student at the time in which the film was produced. (The department/division or the university of participants SHOULD be listed in the film credits). The festival does not accept any films categorized under sub-genre of experimental and animation.
3. Festival accepts films up to 20 min.
4. There is no submission fee for participation.
5. Films that have been submitted in other festivals may also participate in the Golden Baklava International Student Film Festival.
6. There are no restrictions regarding the shooting formats. However, the screening format will be 16:9/ 4:3/ 2:35, Full HD.
7. Films must be in H.264 or .mov format and the resolution should be in FULL HD (1920x1080). In addition, the films must be compatible with the screening formats of the online video platforms (such as Vimeo, Youtube, etc.).
8. Together with the film submission, the online registration process must be completed by uploading the following materials: a trailer (1-minute max); photos from the film in jpeg format ( 5 photos at least); backstage photos in jpeg format (5 photos at least); poster/banner ( min 50x70cm 600dpi resolution ); synopsis (in doc or pdf formats); director’s bio and photo.
9. Only applications via FilmFreeway will be accepted.
10. Only films completed in 2019 or later may be registered.
11. The same competitor may participate with more than one film.
12. Films will be shown in their original languages, but having an English subtitle is a MUST.
