Free Google AI Access for Saudi University Students Through MCIT 2026

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Google are offering free AI access for Saudi university students through a national initiative that includes a one-year Google AI Plus subscription. Students aged 18 and above can register after verification of their university status, with registration open until December 31, 2026.

About the Free AI Access Program

The initiative is intended to provide one million students at Saudi universities with free access to Google’s advanced AI technologies for one year. The subscription gives students access to Gemini tools for research, information analysis, idea development and academic projects, as well as support for productivity and learning. The initiative is designed to help students use AI effectively and responsibly throughout their studies.

The Google AI Plus plan includes the Gemini app, which provides access to advanced AI models for understanding complex problems, conducting in-depth research and analyzing information. The plan also includes media-generation tools for creating images and videos and supporting educational and creative projects in different formats. Students can also use NotebookLM, an AI-powered assistant for organizing sources and references, summarizing academic content and creating interactive audio overviews. In addition, the subscription provides 400 GB of storage for study materials, references and academic projects.

Alongside the subscription, MCIT and Google will deliver a series of training programs throughout the year. These programs aim to help students use AI tools efficiently and responsibly during their educational journey. Additional options for students include a discount of up to 75% on Google AI Pro, which provides advanced tools and models for people interested in programming and design. A special package also offers up to 70% off Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium. These discounts are additional options described alongside the initiative. The initiative was announced during LEAP 2026.
