Opportunity description

ICTP is pleased to open the applications for its Master of Advanced Studies in Medical Physics (MMP) programme, it offers a limited number of partial or full master's scholarships. The MMP is a two-year advanced training programme run jointly by ICTP and the University of Trieste. The programme is designed to provide young, promising graduates of physics or related fields (mainly from developing countries) with postgraduate theoretical and clinical training so that they may be recognized as clinical medical physicists in their home countries.

Benefits

If you join this program, you will have the chance to:

  • Full support includes:
  • travel, and registration fees.
  • a monthly stipend of 900 euro in the first year and 1000 euro in the second.
  • Partial support, that can be in the form of:
  • half support: travel, registration fees and a monthly stipend of 450 euro in the first and 500 in the second year.
  • or, only travel and registration fees.

Eligibility criteria

You should follow these rules:

  • Scholarships are available for candidates from developing countries.
  • The maximum number of students admitted is 30.
  • You must have:
  • A degree equivalent to an MSc in physics or related fields. 
  • Adequate proficiency in English language.
  • You are required to work on a dissertation to be submitted during the last month of the programme. 

Please note: 

  • The university course fees for the Master's Programme is 2200 euro for the entire cycle.
  • Qualified candidates may attend the course at their own cost. 

Selection Process:

You will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Your university performance.
  • Research activity.
  • Professional experience in the field.
