iD Dunedin Fashion Inc, in collaboration with Otago Polytechnic, offers the iD International Emerging Designer Awards 2027, an international competition dedicated to fashion design that aims to discover and support emerging talent from around the world.
Launched in 2005, the competition gives designers the opportunity to showcase their collections during iD Dunedin Fashion Week in New Zealand in front of a specialist judging panel and an international audience.
Participants are required to submit a fashion collection consisting of 3 to 5 looks, with a focus on innovation, originality, creativity, quality, and sustainability.
Designers of all nationalities are eligible to apply, with no geographic restrictions.
Benefits
First Place: NZD 10,000.
Second Place: NZD 5,000.
Third Place: NZD 2,500.
Additional awards such as Best NZ Emerging Designer and Most Sustainable Collection.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be final-year students in a recognized fashion design program or recent graduates in fashion or textiles.
Graduation must have taken place within the past 7 years.
Applicants must have studied in a recognized qualification such as a diploma, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree related to fashion design.
Applicants must submit a collection consisting of 3 to 5 looks.
There is no age limit.
There are no restrictions based on nationality or country of residence.
Applications may be submitted individually or as part of a team, according to the competition information.
Finalists must travel to Dunedin, New Zealand to take part in the judging and fashion week. Travel and visa costs are the responsibility of the participant.
