Opportunity description

The JAGDA International Student Poster Award 2026 invites students from around the world to submit creative posters on the theme of “Harmony” as part of an international competition that aims to discover young talent in graphic design and promote the role of posters as a means of visual communication across cultures.

The competition gives students the opportunity to visually present their ideas through poster designs that combine graphics and text, while expressing human issues and meanings in an innovative way.

Winners of the Grand Prix and Gold awards will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in November 2026, with the possibility of covering travel and accommodation costs for winners living in distant regions.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be current students at a high school, technical college, specialized training institution, university, or graduate school as of January 1, 2026.
  • Students of all nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit for participation.
  • Applications are open to individuals only.
  • Group submissions or team entries are not accepted.
  • The submitted work must be designed by the applicant themselves.
  • Submission Requirements
  • The submitted work must be a B1-size poster.
  • The design must be in vertical orientation only.
  • Required size: 728 mm wide × 1,030 mm high.
  • The work must have been produced between August 2025 and July 2026.
  • The work must include the competition theme word: “Harmony.”
  • Applicants may submit works created specifically for the competition, school projects, graduation projects, or works previously submitted to other competitions.
  • There is no limit to the number of submissions per applicant.
  • If submitting a series of works, it must not exceed 3 posters.

Awards

  • Grand Prix: 1 work, certificate and commemorative prize.
  • Gold: 2 works, certificate and commemorative prize.
  • Silver: 5 works, certificate and commemorative prize.
  • Bronze: 10 works, certificate and commemorative prize.
  • Jury Award: 5 works, certificate.
  • Committee Member Award: 6 works, certificate.
  • Special Sponsor Award: Around 25 works, certificate.
  • Special Supporter Award: Around 1 work, certificate.
  • Selected Works: Around 200 works will be selected for exhibition and publication.
  • Application Fee: The application fee is 1,000 Japanese yen per poster.
