The King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, has opened applications for the fifth edition of the KAPSARC Arabic Language Award 2026. The award aims to support the Arabic language and enrich specialized knowledge content, particularly in the fields of energy, economics, and the environment.
The 2026 edition is held under the theme “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Energy Security” and allows participants to compete across three tracks: Authorship, Translation, and the Enrichment Track, which is dedicated to children’s literature in this edition. The award therefore combines research, writing, translation, and literary creativity, with a focus on producing high-quality specialized Arabic content.
Award Tracks
1. Authorship Track
This track is dedicated to works written in Arabic that address the 2026 theme, “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Energy Security,” in accordance with the award’s specified terms and evaluation criteria.
2. Translation Track
This track focuses on translating specialized content that contributes to enriching Arabic-language knowledge in fields related to energy, economics, the environment, and the theme of the current edition.
3. Enrichment Track – Children’s Literature
For the 2026 edition, this track is dedicated to a children’s story aimed at readers aged 9 to 12, with the goal of producing creative and engaging Arabic content suitable for children.
Benefits
The award offers the following prizes in each of the three tracks:
- First Place: SAR 50,000.
- Second Place: SAR 35,000.
- Third Place: SAR 25,000.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a Saudi citizen or a legal resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Comply with the specific requirements of the track they are applying for.
- Submit a work that aligns with the theme and requirements of the 2026 edition.
- Comply with the award’s intellectual property and originality requirements.
- Complete all required application information and attachments.
- Submit the entry within the official application period.
