King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offers a fully funded graduate fellowship for students accepted into its master’s and PhD programs. KAUST is considered one of the leading research universities in the region, with a focus on science, engineering, technology, computing, energy, environment, marine sciences, applied mathematics, and innovation.
The scholarship aims to attract academically and research-oriented outstanding students from around the world and enable them to pursue their graduate studies in an advanced research environment that includes modern laboratories, specialized research centers, and international faculty members.
All students accepted into graduate programs receive the KAUST Fellowship, a comprehensive fellowship that supports students throughout their studies. It includes tuition coverage, an annual living allowance, housing, medical and dental insurance, and relocation support to the university.
KAUST programs include master’s and PhD levels only, and the university does not offer undergraduate programs under this scholarship.

Eligibility criteria
To apply for the KAUST Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Apply to one of KAUST’s graduate programs, which include master’s and PhD programs.
- Hold a suitable bachelor’s degree to apply for a master’s program.
- Hold a suitable bachelor’s or master’s degree to apply for a PhD program, depending on the program track.
- Have a strong academic background in a field related to science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, or related fields.
- Submit an official university transcript or academic record from every educational institution the applicant has attended.
- Submit a graduation certificate or proof of completion of the previous academic degree.
- Submit certified English translations of documents if they were issued in another language.
- Prove English language proficiency through a TOEFL iBT score of at least 81 or an IELTS score of at least 6.5.
- TOEFL or IELTS is not required if the applicant earned an academic degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Submit 3 recommendation letters from professors or academic supervisors who are familiar with the applicant’s academic or research performance.
- Submit a CV.
- The GRE test is not required for admission, but the university encourages applicants to submit it, especially if the quantitative score is strong.
- Meet any additional requirements set by the selected academic program.
