Korean Studies Grant Worth $13,500 from the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS)

The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is now accepting applications for the 2022 Korean Studies Grant Program. This program provides a variety of funding opportunities for researchers affiliated with educational or research institutions outside of Korea, to enhance the quality of Korean studies and globalize Korean studies.

About the Program:-

• The Educational and Cultural program of the Korean Studies Grant supports lectures, educational programs, and cultural activities designed for the dissemination of knowledge in Korean Studies.
• The project period is one year from 1 February, 2022 to 31 January, 2021.

The grant value varies between $5200-$13,500 (3 projects, average: $9,613).

• Regarding the project director position, the program is available only for researchers affiliated with educational or research institutions outside of Korea.
• Regarding the co-researcher position, the program is available only for researchers affiliated with educational or research institutions outside of Korea or those who have earned master’s or doctoral degrees and who are currently engaged in academic activities.
• Previous grant recipients who have received academic research support from the Ministry of Education (through the The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea, etc.) and have failed to submit the final report or who are under restrictions followed by an unsatisfactory evaluation over final project results aren’t eligible.
• Previous grant recipients who are under participation restrictions after grant termination or grant recovery according to the relevant regulation are ineligible.
• It isn’t allowed for one researcher to apply for more than one project in the same program simultaneously. 
• Applications that include the same sub-programs or the same project results with projects already selected by Korean Studies Promotion Service at the Academy of Korean Studies won’t be accepted.

Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is a South Korean research and educational institute with the purpose of establishing profound research on Korean culture. It was established on June 22, 1978, by the Ministry of Education & Science Technology of South Korea. The Academy has dedicated to interpreting and analyzing Korean culture in general, defining the academic identity of Korean studies, and educating scholars.
