Opportunity description
Kaggle is pleased to open the participation for a competition; Lux AI Challenge. This is a competition where competitors design agents to tackle multi-variable optimization and resource gathering against other competitors. This is a chance to prove your success and ability to analyze your opponents and developing appropriate policies to get the upper hand.

- J Ventures Innovative Strategy award: For the competitor who develops the most innovative, creative strategy and write-up.
- QuantCo Top Performance Award: For the best 10 individual and 10 teams competitors.
- Lux AI Challenge Sprint Award: For the top 2 on the leaderboard will receive the award for developing strong bots early on.
Please note: The top 8 teams who have not received competition t-shirts will get free competition t-shirts.
Eligibility criteria
You must follow the following terms:
- Each day your team is able to submit up to 5 bots to the competition.
- Each submission will play games against other bots on the ladder that have a similar skill rating.
- Every bot submitted will continue to play episodes until the end of the competition, with newer bots playing a much more frequent number of episodes.
- Each competitor must program their own agent in their language of choice.
- Each turn, your agent gets 3 seconds to submit their actions, excess time is not saved across turns.
- In each game, you are given a pool of 60 seconds that is tapped into each time you go over a turn's 3-second limit.
- On the leaderboard, only your best scoring bot will be shown, but you can track the progress of all of your submissions on your Submissions page.
- Whereas, to be eligible for the J Ventures Innovative Strategy award:
- You must submit a document with a maximum of 3 pages in English or Chinese.
- You are free to structure your write-up.
- Recommend sticking to 11 point font as a default.

Evaluation Process:
Your work will be evaluated through two processes:
- Ranking System:
- After an Episode finishes, the Rating estimate for all Submissions in that Episode will update.
- Final Evaluation:
- From December 7th to December 20th, the competition will continue to run games.
- At the conclusion of this period, the leaderboard is final and can determine the winners with the various ranking-based prizes.
