Pinacothèque, a private art institution based in Luxembourg, is accepting applications for the Luxembourg Art Prize 2026, an annual international art competition designed to discover and support talented artists from around the world and help strengthen their presence in the international art scene.

The competition is open to amateur and professional artists of all nationalities and ages. Applicants may submit works across a wide range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, sculpture, installation art, mixed media, and decorative arts such as textiles, glass, wood, metal, ceramics, mosaics, and paper-based art.

The total value of the cash prizes for the 2026 edition is EUR 35,000, distributed among three winners. Winners may use the prize money in any way they choose.

The three winners will receive:

  • First Prize: EUR 20,000.
  • Second Prize: EUR 10,000.
  • Third Prize: EUR 5,000.
  • A total prize pool of EUR 35,000.
  • Selection of 24 artists as finalists.
  • The opportunity to gain visibility among an international audience, art collectors, and professionals in the art sector.
  • The possibility of receiving a Certificate of Artistic Merit from the museum for artists whose work demonstrates notable artistic quality, even if they are not selected as finalists.

Eligibility criteria

The competition is open to:

  • Artists of all nationalities.
  • Artists residing in any country around the world.
  • Both amateur and professional artists.
  • Applicants of any age.
  • Applicants without any specific academic specialization or university degree requirement.

Applicants must:

  • Create a personal Candidate Space account.
  • Complete their administrative and artistic profile.
  • Submit at least one artwork; there is no maximum limit on the number of works that may be added.
  • Be the creator and owner of the submitted artworks.
  • Pay the required registration fee to participate in the competition.
