Competition to Design a Modern and Versatile LED Lamp from Novecento and Desall, with a Chance to Win 2,000 Euros

Novecento and Desall invite you to design a modern and versatile LED lamp that can be used as a flush ceiling light or a pendant light depending on the user’s taste and consistent with the context of use. For more information about the competition please click here.

1. The winner of this prize will receive 2,000 euros. The winner of this award will be selected based on the originality of their work, relevance, and consistency with the abstract submitted with the work.
2. An additional prize ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 euros. The competition will provide an additional opportunity for all participants to win a prize ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 euros in exchange for purchasing the license for these projects. The advance amount will be determined as either 1,000 or 2,000 Euros based on the feasibility, quality, and method of implementation of the project.

• Participation is free of charge and open to designers and creative talents of any nationality aged 18 years or older.
• Participants can submit one or more projects, but only the projects published on the www.desall.com website, via the upload page related to this contest will be accepted.
• Novecento is looking for a new LED lamp concept for large-scale distribution. The lamp should be modern and versatile, resulting in a piece of furniture with a customizable configuration (flush ceiling light/pendant light) and illuminating component (color and intensity of the light).
• You can use aluminum, iron, silicone, and eco-sustainable plastics. You can't use wood, or glass.
• The product should look modern and minimal, performing a decor function even when not in use (lights off).
• The indicative dimensions allowed ranging from a minimum of 60x60 cm to a maximum of 80x80 cm for width and depth (x,y). The height (z) of the product is not subject to restrictions but must be proportionate to the dimensions chosen and consistent with the dual function of a flush ceiling light and pendant light.
• The lamp should employ an RGB LED lighting technology with the possibility of remotely varying the tone and intensity of the light (dimmable).
• The lamp will be installed indoors, in the following domestic contexts: kitchen, living room, and bedroom.
• Target users are young couples and families between the age of 20 and 50 with an interest in modern and technological products.
• Production costs should be kept as low as possible. The proposed concept should take into account the industrialization of the product and should be suitable for sale in large-scale distribution shops.
• In the evaluation of your submissions the sponsor will take into account the following criteria:
• Technical feasibility.
• Economic sustainability.
• Aesthetic.
• Functionality/Usability.
• Innovation.
• All submitted texts (abstract, description, tags, etc.) should be written in English.
