Future Scholar announces its 2025 online competition, giving winners the chance to win a $60 Amazon gift card. You can participate by reading the organization's monthly publications and responding with a story of up to 350 words. New publications are published on the first of each month. You can sign up here for coaching sessions with the award-winning author and co-founder of the organization.

- The first-place winner will receive a $60 Amazon gift card and have their writing featured in the Hall of Fame.
- The second-place winner will receive a $40 Amazon gift card and have their writing featured in the Hall of Fame.
- The third-place winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift card and have their writing featured in the Hall of Fame.
- Runner Up Award winners' work will be featured in the Hall of Fame.
Eligibility criteria
- You can enter this competition by writing a story about your character's escape from a mysterious factory deep underground and the strange discoveries they make. Imagine that one afternoon, you lift a loose wooden plank in your home, school, or other place you frequently visit to find a spiral staircase leading to a secret factory below. Inside, machines produce mismatched talking socks and glowing balls that emit laughter. When production at the factory suddenly spirals out of control, you must find a way out before the exit seals are closed.
- You can think of one of these beginnings for your story: Who created the mysterious factory, and why did they open it? What strange products are being produced down there? How does your character escape, or are they forever stuck? What does the exit look like, and how does your hero find it (if they do find it)?
- Entering this writing competition is completely free, and always will be.
