The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program, established by Orascom Construction, provides fully funded scholarships for Egyptian students to pursue their bachelor's degrees at prestigious universities in the United States. The program aims to facilitate academic development, character building, and the economic prosperity of Egypt.

Endorsed Universities include:

  • University of Chicago

  • Stanford University

  • University of Pennsylvania

  • Harvard University

  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Fields Related: Engineering and Architecture, Business, Economics, Finance.
* Dual Nationality: Preference will be given to applicants who do not hold dual nationality.

Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality: Must be an Egyptian national and resident of Egypt (preference given to non-dual nationality holders).

  • Age limit: Applicants must not exceed 19 years of age.

  • Academic Excellence: Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or 90% or equivalent in high school degrees.

  • Language Proficiency: TOEFL iBT® minimum score of 100 OR IELTS (Academic) minimum score of 7.5, (Note: The test must have been taken within the last 2 years).

  • Standardized Tests: Minimum SAT I score of 1450 OR Minimum ACT score of 32 (taken within 2 years).

  • Extracurriculars: Must have a proven record of extracurricular activities.

  • Commitment: Must be committed to returning to Egypt for two years directly after completing the bachelor's degree.

  • Note: Engineering programs cover specific fields like civil, environmental, energy, etc. Computer engineering/science are not funded as majors.
