The University of Technology Sydney is offering the UTS President's Scholarship for international students all over the world who want to study their Master or Doctoral degree in Australia.
About the Scholarship:-
- The UTS President's scholarship (UTSP) is provided by the University of Technology Sydney to international Higher Degree Research students who demonstrate exceptional research potential. UTSPs are provided to assist with students' general living costs.
- The UTSP scholarship is not transferable to another institution.
- The scholarship duration is up to 3 years (PhD), 2 years (Master).

Benefits
- Living Allowance - Equivalent to RTPS rate (2021 rate is $28,597 per annum, indexed, tax-free).
- The current annual stipends are:
- $28,597 (currently tax-free) for full-time study mode.
- $14,298 (currently taxable) for part-time study mode.
- The University may pay a thesis allowance up to the maximum rate applicable at the time of submission of the thesis in addition to the annual stipend subject to the UTSP holder satisfying the conditions set out in paragraph.
- The allowance is a contribution to the cost of production of the thesis (e.g. editing, proofreading costs) and does not include costs such as the purchase of computer equipment or postage. The current thesis allowances limit are:
- Up to $420 for a masters by research thesis.
- Up to $840 for a thesis.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the UTSP, a student must:
- Be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth); and
- Purchase and maintain a standard OSHC policy approved by the Commonwealth government Department of Health and Ageing.
- Be commencing full-time enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at UTS (UTSPs are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University).
- Be undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as one of its areas of research concentration.
- Not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the proposed candidature.
- Not previously have held an Australian Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship, unless it was terminated within six months of the scholarship payments commencing.
- Not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship (excluding an IPRS) or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the UTSP stipend rate to undertake the HDR. Income earned from sources unrelated to the course of study is not subject to the 75% rule.
