The Pulitzer Center offers grants to journalists to carry out in-depth reporting projects on inequalities, risks, and solutions related to global health.
The grant supports reporting that exposes systemic barriers to accessing healthcare and investigates emerging health threats, scientific and therapeutic developments, preparedness for future pandemics, and health impacts caused by climate change, wars, and crises. The Center is also interested in investigations examining how reductions in international health aid affect patients and healthcare systems in different countries.
Eligible Expenses
The funding may be used to cover direct costs related to producing the investigation, including:
- Travel expenses associated with journalistic reporting.
- Accommodation and meals during fieldwork.
- Local transportation.
- Fees for obtaining records and documents.
- Data analysis and visual design.
- Fees for researchers and local collaborators.
- Fees for translators, drivers, and assistants.
- Costs related to photographers, illustrators, and data designers.
- Equipment rental in certain cases.
