The University of Richmond in the United States offers the Richmond Scholars Program, the university’s most prestigious merit-based scholarship program for outstanding students applying to begin their undergraduate studies.

Approximately 25 incoming students are selected for the scholarship, which provides full coverage of tuition, housing, and meals throughout their undergraduate studies, provided they continue to meet the scholarship requirements.

The program focuses on supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, clear goals, and a strong desire to contribute to a diverse and inclusive university community. Selected scholars also receive academic support, career guidance, and additional opportunities to help them develop both academically and personally.

Eligibility criteria

Students are eligible to apply if they:

  • Are applying for first-year admission to an undergraduate program at the University of Richmond.
  • Submit a complete admission application by December 1, 2026.
  • May be either U.S. or international students; international students are eligible to compete for university-funded merit scholarships.
  • Demonstrate a high level of academic excellence.
  • Have a strong record of leadership and active involvement.
  • Show a clear personal and academic sense of purpose.
  • Are interested in contributing to a diverse and inclusive community.
