Opportunity description
The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) invites refugee youth and those eligible to apply for the Student Refugee Program (SRP) to apply for its scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Eligibility criteria
You must be:
- Registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan or Lebanon.
- You are recognized as a refugee and must be residing in Jordan or Lebanon and have arrived there before January 11, 2021.
- You have completed your high school education and have an official, original copy of your diploma.
- You must have obtained a minimum of 65% in your secondary school certificate.
- You are between 18 and 25 years old as of January 1, 2024.
- Your date of birth must be between January 1998 and January 1, 2006.
- You have the ability to undertake academic study in English or French.
- Single (not married) and without children.
- You have the ability to be self-reliant and prepare for resettlement to Canada independently (i.e. not with family members).
- Desire and determination to confront barriers to accessing post-secondary education.
- All refugees of all nationalities registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan or Lebanon who meet the admission requirements and conditions can apply for this opportunity.

About the University Service Society of Canada (WUSC):
Since 1978, WUSC has worked with UNHCR, IRCC and IOM to resettle 2,200 young refugees and support them to pursue higher education in Canada through its various local committees. These students come from more than 39 war-torn countries around the world and for whom the association provides permanent residency in Canada.
