Opportunity description

OeAD-GmbH is pleased to offer a number of grant opportunities to undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates students. These grants will award in different majors Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Medicine, Health, Sciences Agricultural, Sciences Social Sciences, Humanities, and Art and will be awarded for 1 - 4 months.

Benefits

If you get this grant, you will have: 

  • Monthly grant rate EUR 1,050.
  • The OeAD-GmbH can support you in taking out valid, adequate health insurance. 
  • The costs for accommodation are to be paid from the scholarship.
  • Scholarship holders from countries that are neither members of the EU, EFTA or OECD will be paid a flat-rate travel allowance depending on their country of origin.

Eligibility criteria

You should follow the following criteria:

  • Students can apply:
  • are the descendants of forced laborers under the Nazi regime. 
  • or come from countries that suffered particularly badly from the Nazi regime.
  • Research grants can be applied for bachelor, diploma and master theses and for dissertations.
  • No scholarships are awarded for a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in Austria, for summer courses, language courses, or internships.
  • Applicants must not have studied/researched/scientific work in Austria in the six months prior to the start of the grant.
  • maximum age :
  • for doctoral students: 40 years (born on or after September 1, 1982).
  • for others: 35 years (born on or after 09/01/1987).

Please note:

  • An award in the same program is only possible once, an extension is excluded.
  • Short-term scholarships (1 - 3 months) are to be consumed primarily in the period from January to June.

Selection criteria:

The selection process based on the following criteria:

  •  Formal examination (by the OeAD-GmbH).
  •  Why do you want to work scientifically in Austria?
  •  How would you like to carry out your project, which scientific methods would you like to use?
  • What is the research goal for your stay in Austria?
  • What work steps have you planned to achieve the research goal?
  • Has preliminary work already been done to achieve the research goal?
  • Previous course of studies (duration and grades) or list of publications or documentation of previous artistic activity?
  • Overall plausibility of the application.

The OeAD is the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research. The OeAD is in charge of the international exchange of pupils, apprentices, students, lecturers, and researchers, and carries out international educational projects. Among others, the organization supports and advises the federal government in the conception and development of European and international initiatives, offers services for mobility in European and international cooperations, promotes Austria worldwide as an attractive location for education and research, and carries out programs and measures of public and private providers of funds for internationalization of education.
