Opportunity description

The Swedish Defence University offers several of partially funded scholarships for courses, which requires the payment of fees. You can apply for:

  • The UHR Scholarship
  • The scholarship is aimed for newly admitted students.
  • The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP)
  • In 2023 the Swedish Institute will grant about 350 scholarships for master’s degree studies in Sweden.
  • The scholarship is intended for a full-time, one- or two-year master’s programme, and is funded by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. 

Benefits

  • If you get one of these scholarships, you will have:
  • The UHR Scholarship
  • Used to pay all or part of the tuition fees.
  • The scholarship Not covering accommodation or other suchlike costs.
  • SISGP scholarship
  • Full tuition fee coverage. 
  • A monthly payment of SEK 11,000 to cover your living expenses throughout the study period.
  • Insurance against illness and accidents.
  • Travel grant of SEK 15,000 for the entire study period.
  • As a member of the SI Alumni Network, you get a unique opportunity for continued networking and professional development.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the UHR Scholarship: 

  • The scholarship programme is aimed at well-qualified students from countries, other than EU/EEA countries and Switzerland, who wish to study at Swedish universities or colleges.
  • Only applicants in the current application round can apply for the scholarship.

To be eligible for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals:

  • You must be admitted to one of the eligible master's programs by 30 of March 2023.
  • You should have a clear idea of how your education will contribute to the sustainable development of your home country and region.
  • You must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of demonstrated work experience. 
  • Work experience within the fields in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be prioritized.
  • You must complete your application in English.
  • You are not eligible if have already resided in Sweden for cumulatively two years or more, prior to the scholarship period (starting August 2023).
