The American University in Cairo (AUC) is a distinguished institution operating in both Arabic and English, combining liberal arts education with an internationally accredited academic system. Located in Egypt, the university aims to prepare leaders in various fields, support scientific research and community service, and offers numerous fellowship and scholarship programs for students from Egypt and the Arab world.

The Tarek Juffali Fellowship is dedicated to new Master’s students from Egypt and other Arab countries in the fields of International Counseling and Community Psychology. The fellowship provides support for a two-year Master’s degree or a one-year graduate diploma in these specializations, aiming to prepare professionals capable of addressing psychological and mental health issues within families and communities.

Application Deadlines

  • Spring 2026 Fellowship: Applications open for all graduate students seeking a fellowship from October 8, 2025 to October 29, 2025.

  • Fall 2026 Fellowship: There are two application cycles:

    • Cycle 1: from December 21, 2025 to January 20, 2026.

    • Cycle 2: from April 2, 2026 to May 3, 2026.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be Egyptian or from other Arab nationalities.

  • Must be a recent graduate or a Master’s applicant in International Counseling or Community Psychology.

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.

  • To maintain the fellowship, recipients must keep a minimum GPA of 3.2.

  • Relevant professional or community service experience, with clear commitment to social issues.

  • Demonstrated financial need for support.
