The Royal Society, based in London, is organizing the 2025 Photography Competition. Participants are invited to submit images illustrating a scientific phenomenon.
Winning entries are chosen based on two key criteria: they should be aesthetically pleasing and convey an interesting scientific phenomenon.
Photos may be submitted to one of five categories:
- Astronomy
- Behaviour
- Earth Science and Climatology
- Ecology and Environmental Science
- Micro-imaging
A minimum 150-word description of the scientific context and technical details must accompany each entry.
Entry is free of charge, and no entry fees are required.
Benefits
- Overall Winner: £1,000 and cover feature in a Royal Society journal
- Category Winners: £500 each
