Competition for Talented in Fine Arts and a Chance to Win a Prize of $2,500

SATYRYKON Legnica is pleased to announce the start of applying for a competition for artists who talent drawings, graphics, and other works of fine arts and photography. It gives you the chance to submit your work in two themes; school and joke.  

If you win this competition, you will get one of the following prizes:

• Grand Prix SATYRYKON 2021: pure gold key and purse amounting to 2.500 USD.
• 2 gold medals and purses amounting to 1.780 USD each.
• 2 silver medals and purses amounting to 1.500 USD each.
• 2 bronze medals and purses amounting to 1.270 USD each.
• 4 special prizes amounting to 1.000 USD each.
•  Mayor of Legnica in amount of 1.000 USD award.
• Director of Legnica Culture Centre in the amount of 1.000 USD award for photography work.

Participants’ privileges

•  Authors of the works qualified for the exhibition are given a presentation copy of the exhibition catalog and a free-of-charge place in the catalog.
• Organizers provide competition prize-winners with gratuitous participation in the SATYRYKON 2022 event on June 17-19, 2022.
• Works sent to the exhibitions will be exhibited in Poland and abroad after the main exhibition, and then will be returned to their authors by the end of 2022. 

You must follow the following conditions:

1.  SATYRYKON 2022 International Exhibition is an open competition.
2.  The objects of the competition are drawings, graphics, and other works of fine arts and photography created with the use of optional techniques.
3. Works awarded in other competitions will be excluded from the SATYRYKON competition.
4. Up to three works may be submitted for each section of the competition. 
5. Accepted work format: A3 (297x420mm) at maximum, 5 MB per picture, saved in JPEG format. 
6. The work originals will be returned on condition that the Author donates one of the works of her/his choice to the Satyrykon Gallery. 
7. Organizers reserve the right to use the sent works for SATYRYKON advertising purposes without any special fees paid to the authors.
8. The prize-winning works become the property of the organizers and will be included in the collection of the Satyrykon Gallery.
9. Sending your work you agree to the rules and regulations.

Timeline:

•  Qualification for the 2nd stage of the competition will be announced on 10th January 2022 at the Satyrykon website www.satyrykon.pl
•  Deadline for work originals delivery: 28th February 2022.
•  Jury meeting March 4-6, 2022.
•  The competition results will be announced on 6th March 2022.
• Post-competition exhibition June 8 – August 28, 2022.
• Return of the works after the exhibition cycle on December 31, 2023.

About SATYRYKON:

SATYRYKON is the festival of well an established name and world prestige, which has been confirmed by awarding it a grand Prix badge by the American magazine ”Witty World”. Initially, Satyrykon was a local event – it was an exhibition of the cartoons by Wrocław artists, but already in 1978, it transformed into an all Poland's cartoon competition. For many years Legnica was the first and only meeting spot for Polish satire artists, and Satyrykon has greatly contributed to the popularising of the genre in Poland.
